LOCATION: Columbus, Wisconsin

SUMMARY: Secure, support, maintain and perform technical analysis on a wide range of information security issues and tasks. Focus on the administration of the SIEM tool including identification, ingestion, and parsing of log sources while monitoring and responding to alerts within the SIEM tool. Monitor the operation of security systems such as firewalls, DNS logs, email filtering, web filtering, EDR agents, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Safeguard all computer systems and digital information by following company security procedures and information security best practices
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Administer a vulnerability management program to remediate and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Reviews change requests with firewall administrators, engineering, system administrators and other stakeholders to determine the risk of requested network configurations
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades as needed
  • Performs technical analysis on a wide range of information security issues and tasks
  • Provides technical expertise and support to customers and IT staff in security assessments, implementation, and operational aspects of appropriate information security procedures and solutions
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge in the following hardware, software, or equivalent technologies
  • Server OS and Active Directory
  • CLI based security tools
  • EDR and AV platforms
  • SIEM solution
  • Vulnerability management solution
  • Ticketing system
  • Email filtering system
  • Client Operating Systems
  • Microsoft SCCM
  • Network Switch Configuration and management
  • Wireless Network Support and Configuration
  • Network firewall administration and management
  • Monitor network infrastructure including Firewalls, Switches, Circuits, Servers
  • Provide professional support to internal customers responding to security issues
  • Participate in the creation/updating of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures)
  • Participates in the response to information security incidents by gathering data and artifacts relevant to the event
  • Work with team members to provide holistic support to the business
  • Propose and Lead approved IT projects to achieve desired objectives and outcomes
  • Work during off hours and weekends as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Time management for this role is expected to be: 

  • 50% on supporting Service Desk tickets and IT Operations
  • 50% on IT Security and Infrastructure Projects

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (BS) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM field; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience MCSE, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer valuable, but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
